Time and the Sunflower

Ah sunflower, weary of time,

Who countest the steps of the Sun,

Seeking after that sweet golden clime

Where the travelers journey is done..

an exerpt from William Blake

Hurry into the coolness of Autumn

and its sweet, subtle, September shades......

We are just about reaching that stage here Hildred. I too love Autumn.

The poem excerpt is perfect. Sunflowers are definitely a transition season flower. I have a bouquet of them in front of me as I write, but it is still hot hot summer here -- nearly 100 expected -- way too hot for Eugene Oregon!

I wonder if I would tire of the shades of Autumn should they surround me year round...I doubt it. I see your mountains...not like Big Sky Country, but beautiful still.
