Sunday afternoon again....

And such a dreary day.  I write this on my IPad as I watch a Mozart program on the Knowledge Network.  The music and anecdotes are lovely but as I gaze to the south, out the window, I see grey clouds  swirling just above the floor of the valley, hiding the mountains in a pewter mist.

My mood is inclined to fall in with the general malaise the weather suffers. and even the pure white amaryllis that deigned to bloom for me from last year's bulbs makes my eyes glad, but doesn't make them sparkle!!

Perhaps a little summer collage will do the trick

Or a summery smilebox

Dream on....dream on......

It has been a long stretch of dreary grey weather here interspersed now and then with 15 minutes of sunshine.
I hadn't encountered a smilebox before--this one made me nostalgic for my gardens of former times and places.

Glad you liked my garden, sometimes when the weather is hot and sticky I would love to be rugged up and sitting by the fire!

My favourite Mozart anecdote is that he once wrote to his father how he was very excited to hear someone whistling one of his tunes in the street! Somehow it's not what you'd expect of a classical composer.

I am just the same Hildred. I hate grey weather and we have had days of it here. Today the sun is shining and it makes me feel a whole lot better.

Oh your beautiful header photo, that wonderful summer smilebox, and all of your memories cheered me up immensely -- though I really don't have weather to blame for my feelings of malaise (our rain is supposed to be gone by tomorrow and sun the rest of the week.) My "sad" is caused purely by politics. I am having to work on keeping my world cheerful.

Hi Hildred, I hope your weather has improved since you wrote this post. My world is dominated by snow though the last few days have been sunny and temps have risen above freezing. I walked 5 miles this morning because snow is in the forecast, and I may not be able to exercise tomorrow. One of my best friends is turning 80, and we're having a Ladies' Brunch for her. Hope you're feeling well. I see you're already dreaming about summer!
