The letter this week is I
And after I have thought about the lovely Iris, about which /who I have written before, my mind is immediately full of the sweet, delicate
Icelandic poppy
They grow prolifically wherever I scatter wildflower seeds. and come back to bring colour and pleasure to the garden each year.
What could be more graceful than a bed of fragile poppies blowing in a warm summer breeze!!!!!
They have a lovely innocence about them, and together with blue batchelor buttons and little white popcorn flowers they make a perfect picture.

They are wonderful; just seeing the pictures put me in a happy mood. And all of them are frameworthy!
How delicate and colourful are those poppies, Hildred!
I knew what these beautiful Poppies were even in the tiny thumbnail!
Perfect for the letter I.
We have much smaller and more monotone Poppies here and they are just starting to burst into bloom along hillsides and highways, they are our State flower the California Poppy!
Have a good week and thanks for making ABC Wednesday so pretty and bright!
These are exquisite Hildred. They do grow here and self seed but they are mostly orange.
Lovely!
The Icelandics are some of my personal favorites. Great colors
The last photo reminds me of that time of year when there is suddenly and explosion of colour, beautiful. I love how poppies spread themselves around.
Those flowers are sure pretty indeed. Makes me want to go out and buy some poppies for my garden now. :)
I follow your post from the ABC Wednesday blog
