and the letter this week is the Royal R
R is for Roses
My favourites are the Abraham Darby for colour, form and fragrance
the Mister Lincoln for its amazing deep red velvet colour and texture, and the wonderful scent that fills the air as you brush past it
and the Prairie Princess for its lovely icy pink hardiness.

I love roses, they remind me of growing up in England where, it seemed, everyone grew them.

Gorgeous shots of the roses. Carver, ABC-Wed. Team
I love the heady fragrance of roses.
There is such a vast variety of shades of color and design.
The roses in our neighborhood are blooming like crazy. I guess it's a good year for roses.
I also love the Abraham Darby roses. I used to have a bunch in my old home- they were huge! And the colors...
Great post - have a great week.
Roses are hard for me to grow here in NM. I used to have a great rose garden when I lived in CA. I love Mr. Lincoln-also Silver Anniversary, Double Delight, Queen Elizabeth, Cecile Brunner, etc. I always selected my roses by the number of petals (had to be 30 or more), fragrance and lack of thorns. Love your roses-I can almost smell them!
Delightful roses! Mine are coming along quite well now, but no buds just yet. Have a great week,
Leslie

I swear I could smell roses as I looked through your photos!
Beautiful flowers...but fabulous banner shot!!!
Beautiful roses -- beautiful pictures of them! We had roses in our Oregon yard, but they always make me think of my dad -- especially the wonderful old-fashioned ones like yours here. He didn't have many hobbies really, but he did love growing roses.
