The letter this week is the Delectable D
D stands for Delphinium
One of my favourite flowers in the garden
Also known as Larkspur, it is to be found in the wild,
where all parts of the plant are Dangerous to cattle
and also to humans, if they are so Daring as to munch on them.
For more Delightful D's visit here at ABC Wednesday
with thanks to Mrs. Nesbitt and her kind helpers.

I love these flowers, too, but they don't seem to like my garden. Yours are beautiful. Have a wonderful week,

Beautiful photos! I so admire gardeners... it seems to be almost a lost art by people in the world today... And to know the names of flowers... something so special about that!
Blessings!

Oh, I love the Delphiniums! Marvelous captures as always, Hildred, and I love the beautiful, spring like colors! So ready to see some of those here in Seattle! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

These flowers remind me of my Mom. She always had them in her garden. they have so many beautiful colors. Thanks for the stroll down memory lane.
This is a lovely D-flower :)
Lovely delphinium, reminding me of warmer days!
They sing of summer and cottage gardens. Pretty plants.
Beautiful flowers;they remind me of English cottage gardens.

They are far too beautiful to indicate the dastardly deeds they do!
lovely. but dastardly.

My Delphinium sometimes get taller than me - they're the late summer stars of my garden.
They really do add so much to a garden spot. Yours are beautiful.
Delightful Ds indeed, Hildred. I'll be sure not to munch on any, and I'm sure our dog Lindy is too smart to eat delphiniums, too.

I always think of Christopher Robin when I hear about Delphiniums. "Delphiniums pink, delphiniums blue..." can't remember the rest. So long ago.
Beautiful flowers indeed, Hildred and Charles. When I was in Australia on a tour a guide was telling something about the vegetation adding this sentence:"Don't touch any plants, for they might be poisonous. If you leave them alone, they will leave you alone!" Some plants cause a rash or blisters.
This is beautiful and I think this flower attracts butterflies. Love it!

Gorgeous flowers. reminds me I should plant some more of those...
These flowers are very pretty, but if they are poisonous to both cattle and humans, I should steer clear of them. Lots of plants are poisonous to cats and even dogs. Did you know that chocoalate can kill a dog or cat? We just don't have the chemistry in out system to digest it!
Interesting post. I love flowers and plants.
