Gratitude is the heart's memory

A moment in time - another birthday

You go a long and lovely journey,
For all the stars, like burning dew,
Are luminous and luring footprints
Of souls adventurous as you.

Oh, if you lived on earth elated,
How is it now that you can run
Free of the weight of flesh and faring
Far past the birthplace of the sun?

What a beautiful picture of both of you. It captures so well your togetherness and your love, and it involks a flood of memories... It was always so wonderful to be any part of the scene when you and Dad shared your talent and humour with your friends. My thoughts and love to you today and everyday Mom.

Thank you dears, - it was your Dad's 65th birthday and we had just moved into the house on 10th, - had a big party for him. He is at the piano downstairs, probably playing 'Five Foot Two' or "I'll be down to get you in a Taxi, Honey". Good memories....

You and Charles look so happy, Hildred. I can almost hear the music and the laughter. Sending you hugs from CO.

I am so glad that I got to know Charles a little bit (virtually) through your blogs ... you were so good together -- role models (and you still are). Thank you for sharing this beautiful poem and the fun picture and the happy memories.
