ABC Wednesday

The Quaint and sometimes Querulous letter this week is Q

Q is for Queen

Here are some pictures of our own beloved monarch, Queen Elizabeth the Second.

All, I am afraid, courtesy of the Internet, although Charles and I once were at a garden party at the Lieut. Governor's digs in Victoria where the Queen was Guest of Honour.  But we weren't introduced, and pictures were not allowed.  It is too bad, really, - we would have had a lot to talk about, being of the same generation and it being at a time when we both had rather rowdy teen-agers......

and one of Wordsworth's beautiful daffodils

but this is the picture that makes me smile and evokes a delightful personality.
as well as being steady-as-she-goes!

Long May She Reign.

For more quizzical Q's wander over to ABC Wednesday here
with thanks to Mrs. Nesbitt and all her helper.

What magnificient hats...not a quirky one among them. All fit for a queen.

Beautiful photos of Queen Elizabeth. Roger has a post about the three ruling queens of Europe, apart from Queen Elizabeth there are Queen Margarethe of Denmark and Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. Last year I did a post about these queens as well.
I wish you a great week!

Isn't she wonderful? I've only ever seen her once, when she was still a princess and I was very, very young, but I remember the excitement in Canada before and after the Coronation.
Glad to know I'm not the only monarchist in western Canada, Hildred, although I might be the only one in Alberta. LOL

Great minds...
I chose "Queen" for my Q word too.

I saw her pass by in a car once. She waved to me (and possibly the few hundred other people lining the street, but I am positive we made eye contact!)

She really is an incredible woman, I saw her twice as a beautiful young woman when she came to Oz. Love the last photo.

I loved her hats, I love hats anyway, but never wear them anymore. Great choice for Q day.

I guess Queen Elizabeth was a popular choice this week. That last photo of her is quite unique I think, though not very flattering.

The queen is an interesting and hard working woman. I just wish she wouldn't dress so matchy, matchy. Picky of me, I know, but I think this every time I see a photo of her.
