Wisteria

Lovely name for such a delicate flower

I have been having fun with Photoshop, but here is the original

It is very beautiful trailing over the arbour at the house at the bottom of the hill

If wisteria likes you it grows well - if it doesn;t like you it is pointless to try and grow it. It has been long over here but isn't it a beautiful climber.

The photos of the wisteria bring some lovely memories back to my mind. I spent a month in Norway with a longtime friend. While we were there I read "Kristin Lavransdatter: The Bridal Wreath" by Sigrid Undset. As we traveled through Norway the wisteria was blooming everywhere. We called the flowers Bridal Wreath. The book and the land of Norway were both enchanting. As I look in Widipedia, I see that many vining flowers are called that name. Thanks for the photos and the renewed memories.

Hi Willo, - it is many years since I read Kristin Lavransdatter, - thank you for bring it to my memory - I must see if the library still treaures Sigrid Undset's works. This is my daughter-in-law's wisteria, and it definitely likes her, Weaver.

I'm seeing it here in CA, too - so graceful looking. Love the Honeysuckle in your Header, too. I think spring has definitely arrived for you, Hildred.

My grandmother had wisteria growing over her patio. I remember it fondly!

Our daughter and sil have a beautiful wisteria plant on their back trellis -- I'm afraid it will be mostly gone by the time we get there in July. One of my favorite spring plants.

Have a wonderful week Hildred!
