A River of Stones
January 4th, 2011

River Stone #4

He coddles the starting gear
while the beloved sleeps on
A slow awakening groan
and it springs to life

I watch from the window
Grateful for the guardian angels
of tractors
and good timing..

I remember your post about Charles and the old tractor, Hildred. This poem is beautifully descriptive of feelings.

Oh yes Hildred - tractors can be so hard to start on cold mornings. Love the firework header.

Lovely poem and like Barb I remember your previous post about Charles and the tractor.

I don't always have time to read blogs in the morning but when I do and one of yours is here, I think "I really should do this first thing every morning' -- you are always an inspiration.
