Skywatch Friday
October 30th, 2009

The trees were brilliant, - vibrant with color as we made our way from one valley to another.

But above the sky brooded, dark and dour. Mysterious mists drifted between the clefts of the hills and alongside the creeks.

The camera saw things that I didn't see as we sped along, blurring the glint of grasses and the cranberry reds along side the road.

Today it snowed!!

If you want to see beautiful skies after these doleful examples skip over to Skywatch, here, and feast your soul.

It's that time of year! Mists are very interesting to shoot, I think, if they aren't too thick. Nice contrast in your shots between the colors of the trees and the gray mist.

Didn't realize the ostrich shots were not yours... Photographer deserves credit for those shots.

A very beautiful landscape so very different from Australia. The last blurred picture I like very much I could see this as a painting!

Hi Hildred, Those mists are so eerie and magical - along with your fall colors. How much snow? Now you can join my winter club!

Today I'm going to bake your orange muffins - I'll let you know how they get at altitude!

Hildred said...

Oh yes, the snow is still on the mountains and we are fogged in, - very early in the year for this kind of weather, but it's good moisture after a dry summer. And sometimes when the mist lifts a little it is quite beautiful.
Barb, do hope the orange muffins behave well in the high altitude!
Thanks to all for dropping by.

Elisabeth, I do agree that the photographer deserves credit for those fine shots, - I found the first picture in many places on the internet, well used, and I did search hard for the image maker, but in vain.....

Beautiful images of the mist and trees! I love the blurred picture, too - very lovely!

We had snow here too, but most of it has been washed away by the rain we got overnight. So mild for this time of the year.
